TECHNOLOGY FACILITATION STANDARD I TF-I: Technology Operations and Concepts Educational technology facilitators demonstrate an in-depth understanding of technology operations and concepts. Self-Assessment
This degree program has opened my eyes to the various technology applications, software, and tools available. When I first started teaching Technology Apps, I was basically left on my own to find lessons and software to help implement the TEKS. However, a few years ago, our district hired an Instructional Technology Director and she has help streamline a technology scope and sequence from Kindergarten to 12th grade. She also formed a district Technology Advisory Committee and Computer Advisory Committee. When I attend these meetings, I am able to understand and contribute more because I am more familiar with them.
Learn as a Learner
When completing our campus STaR chart, I am able to fill it out honestly and help others who don't understand. The digital story, audacity, and wiki assignments were my favorites because they were brand new things for me to do. New waves of technology- the Internet, e-mail new operating systems, new mobile computing devices, wireless technologies, and Web 2.0 applications such as wikis, blogs, and podcasting-serve to illustrate how addressing basic technology operations and concepts is an ever-evolving task for technology facilitators, technology leaders and the educators they serve (Williamson 21). Lifelong Learning Skills
I know that I am going to have to constantly stay up on what's going on. Technology competency is not a skill set that, once mastered, is static; rather, it is highly fluid, changing at the pace of technological innovation (Williamson 21).
